Hays Accountancy & Finance are recruiting on behalf of an innovative and rapidly growing organisation based in Belfast. Operating in a highly specialised engineering and advanced manufacturing environment, this forward-thinking business is at the forefront of developing sustainable transport solutions and is experiencing an exciting period of growth and investment.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the right candidate will lead the finance function and play a key role in supporting strategic business objectives. This is a hands-on leadership position, combining operational finance management with commercial and strategic input across the organisation. This is initially a temporary position, offering the possibility for permanent role.

Your new role

• Leading the production of monthly management accounts, financial reporting packs and KPI reporting.
• Managing budgeting, forecasting and cashflow planning processes.
• Taking ownership of the annual audit process and statutory reporting requirements.
• Overseeing grant and stakeholder reporting requirements.
• Managing treasury activities and cashflow forecasting.
• Leading and developing the transactional finance team, payroll processes and financial controls framework.
• Driving continuous improvements across finance systems, reporting processes and ERP functionality.
• Supporting senior leadership with financial insights and strategic decision-making.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant tax, regulatory and reporting obligations

What you'll need to succeed

• Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant.
• Previous experience operating at Finance Manager, Financial Controller or Head of Finance level.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including financial reporting and statutory accounts preparation.
• Experience managing budgeting, forecasting and cashflow processes.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling capabilities.
