Artemis Human Capital is pleased to be working in excusive partnership with our Belfast based client. We are seeking to appoint a Finance Assistant to join their growing finance team. Supporting the Finance Coordinator, this is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a broad range of finance experience across purchase ledger, invoicing, reconciliations and credit control within a prestigious, ambitious and growing indigenous business.
The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operation of the finance function while gaining exposure to month-end and year-end activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Finance Coordinator with the day-to-day running of the finance department.
- Process supplier invoices accurately and efficiently using Xero.
- Upload and maintain monthly supplier invoices, ensuring records are complete and up to date.
- Assist with supplier account reconciliations and resolve invoice queries.
- Provide administrative support with the preparation of quarterly management accounts.
- Assist with year-end finance processes and audit preparation.
- Raise customer invoices and ensure accurate financial records are maintained.
- Carry out credit control activities, including following up outstanding balances and allocating payments.
- Maintain petty cash records and complete regular reconciliations.
- Support the wider finance function with ad hoc administrative and finance duties as required.
Essential Criteria
- Current experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, Purchase Ledger or similar finance support role.
- Experience using an accounting package (Xero experience would be advantageous).
- Good understanding of invoice processing, reconciliations and finance administration.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and a professional telephone manner.
- Competent user of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
