We are looking for a Management Accountant to join our GB Hire team in York for a period of 6 months.
As a Management Accountant
, you will play a key role in delivering a range of business-critical finance projects, providing support with balance sheet reconciliations, ledger reviews, and the recoding of business units and cost centres.
- Annual salary up to £52,000 dependent on skills and experience.
- Role based:
York, YO32 9PT
(must live within a commutable distance of York) - Contract type:
Fixed Term Contract – 6 months
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts and cash flow forecasts to support business decision-making.
- Manage and complete balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and contribute to finance projects
- Provide clear financial analysis and interpretation to managers, ensuring understanding of the financial implications of decisions.
- Liaise with operational and project teams to monitor project performance, maintain margins, and control costs.
- Act as a key point of contact for internal and external auditors, providing accurate and timely financial information.
- Offer financial guidance to colleagues to support adherence to financial controls and policies.

- Educated to degree level with a professional accounting qualification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in finance.
- Experience with in a project accounting or reconciliation focused role
- Ability to mentor colleagues.
- Good communicator.
- Good influencing and stakeholder engagement skills across both internal and external partners.
