Fixed Term - 37.5 hrs per week (WFH options available Monday and Friday) Salary:
Up to £50,000 per annum dependent on experience Purpose of the Role We are seeking an experienced and proactive finance professional to join our team on a fixed-term basis until the end of March 2027. This role will play a key part in supporting the delivery of high-quality management accounts, budget preparation, forecasting processes, and the implementation of robust monthly financial controls.
The successful candidate will be an adaptable self-starter with strong financial management experience, capable of working independently with minimal supervision. You will be expected to quickly integrate into the team, take ownership of key responsibilities, and provide hands-on support in a fast-paced environment.
Job Description Main Responsibilities and Duties Management Accounting Prepare accurate monthly management accounts with supporting analysis and commentary. Produce monthly and quarterly financial reports for senior management and trustees. Analyse financial performance against budget and forecast, highlighting key variances and risks. Monitor income, expenditure, restricted funds, and project budgets. Budgeting and Forecasting Annual budgeting process across departments. Prepare rolling forecasts and long-term financial projections.
Provide recommendations to improve financial performance. Financial Control and Compliance Maintain strong financial controls and procedures. Ensure compliance with charity, accounting, taxation, and regulatory requirements. Review and complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies. Charity and Fund Accounting Ensure accurate accounting for restricted, unrestricted, and designated funds. Support compliance with Charity SORP and relevant accounting standards. Monitor grant income and expenditure, ensuring funder requirements are met.
Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts. General Actively promote the organisational mission, values, aims and objectives, ensuring all Policies and Procedures, to include the Code of Conduct and Practice are adhered to at all times. Be a cultural carrier for Threshold Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. Adhere and comply with all Thresholds Health and Safety Policies and Procedures including reporting and recording of all relevant incident, contributing to the overall physical cleanliness and general condition of the facilities of the service.
Act as a Deputy Fire Warden and / or First Aid Person if designated. Evaluation Method Professional Qualification sand work experience Essential Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) or equivalent. 3 years experience in working in a finance team in a medium-large organisation Experience Essential Experience preparing management accounts and budgets. Strong financial analysis and reporting skills. Knowledge of financial controls and audit requirements. Competencies Essential Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong organisational and time management skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. Information Technology Essential Advanced Excel and financial systems experience Experience in using digital finance systems Additional Requirements
