Finance Transactions Manager

Finance Transactions Manager - Permanent Blackburn (Hybrid - up to 3 days in the office per week) Excellent day rate depending on experience. We're looking for a Finance Transactions Manager to lead the delivery of high-performing finance operations in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment. Based near Preston, this permanent role offers hybrid working and flexible hours, giving you the autonomy to work in a way that suits your lifestyle while making a measurable impact on our business.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the end-to-end delivery of core finance services including Accounts Payable, Credit Control & Billing, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, and Cash Management. Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting in line with statutory and internal deadlines. Maintain robust internal controls and ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and audit requirements. Use financial data and analytics to monitor performance, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement.

Lead on system optimisation and automation within finance operations (e.g. ERP enhancements, workflow tools). Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Finance, HR, Procurement, etc.) to ensure seamless service integration across the business. Develop and manage KPIs/SLAs for service delivery and ensure a strong customer service ethos across the team. Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes by ensuring the integrity and accuracy of underlying data.

Skills & Experience:

Proven experience in a shared services or finance operations leadership role. Strong technical knowledge of core finance functions Experience managing all transactional operational processes, month-end processes, reconciliations, and statutory reporting. Proficient in ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Dynamics) and confident with financial reporting tools and Excel. Track record of driving process improvements and implementing digital tools to enhance finance operations. Excellent leadership and team development skills.
