Interim Accounting Technician (Schools Finance) - Local authority London | Hybrid – 2 days on-site Up to £400 per day | Inside IR35 Interim contract A London local authority to recruit an Interim Accounting Technician to support its schools finance function. This is a hands-on role supporting the day-to-day financial administration of the service, with a strong focus on journals, reconciliations, data management and spreadsheet-based analysis.

Key responsibilities will include:
Processing and reviewing journals Completing balance sheet and other financial reconciliations Managing and maintaining schools finance data Supporting general finance administration Producing and maintaining spreadsheets, trackers and reports Investigating discrepancies and resolving data issues Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc financial tasks The successful candidate will have:
Previous local government finance experience – essential Strong Excel and general IT skills

Experience of journals, reconciliations and financial administration Good attention to detail and confidence working with large volumes of data The ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines Previous schools finance experience would be highly desirable
