Assistant Accountant

At Avondale Foods Ltd we are looking for an Assistant Accountant who will support the finance team with the day-to-day financial administration and accounting activities of the organisation. The role will assist with maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, preparing reconciliations and supporting month-end and year-end accounting processes in relation to Purchase Ledger, Budgeting, Management Accounts and Statutory Financial Statements in accordance with the requirements of the organisation.

What you will do;
Assist in maintaining and developing accurate systems information, records and reporting, with adequate financial controls. Support with implementation of financial controls and reporting, including but not limited to, monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow), balance sheet reconciliations, process and systems improvements, payroll, VAT submissions etc. Support with financial reports to include proactive and robust financial analysis to support decision making and business performance.

Assist in the preparation of key performance indicators and commentaries on variances. Support with the annual budget and forecast processes. Present financial reports to the Head of Finance & IT Assist with preparing draft statutory accounts in line with UK Government requirements. Support with organisational compliance with all statutory regulations. Provide cover for the transactional team when required Carry out any other administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the department

Essential Criteria ;
At least 3 years experience working within a Finance function. Good knowledge and understanding of financial management and best practice. ATI qualified or equivalent IT literate proficient in MS package. Benefits:
