Interim Senior Tax Manager - Part-Time (2-3 days per week)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Manager to provide senior tax leadership and hands‑on support on a part‑time basis. The role will suit a technically strong tax professional who can quickly understand a business, provide pragmatic advice, manage key compliance requirements and support the wider finance team.

The successful candidate will take ownership of the organisation's day‑to‑day tax matters, ensuring obligations are met accurately and on time while identifying and managing tax risks and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the group tax compliance calendar across corporation tax, VAT, employment taxes, and CIS
  • Coordinate and review the group Corporate Tax returns prepared by the advisors through to filing, including group relief and instalment payments
  • Manage HMRC enquiries and the tax elements of the external audit, acting as primary contact for HMRC and the advisers.
  • Coordinate the R&D claim, including drafting, data gathering and managing internal stakeholders, liaising with the auditors
  • Prepare current and deferred tax for the year‑end and management accounts, including the tax notes in the statutory accounts
  • Forecast tax cash flows (CT instalments, VAT, PAYE) to feed into the cash flow forecast
  • Oversee employment tax matters including P11

    Ds/PSA, benefits and off‑payroll/IR35
  • Own the tax risk and controls framework: undertake high level review procedures, identify risks, advise on improvements and oversee the resulting action plan
  • Prepare tax reports and updates for the Board as required
  • Support and manage ad hoc projects, including general tax planning and the tax implications of corporate structure simplification (post M&A)
The ideal candidate requirements for this role will include the following:
  • Ideally CTA, ACA or ACCA qualified with a mix of practice and in‑house experience
  • Comfortable being hands‑on while also managing advisers.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • A proactive, hands‑on approach and the confidence to work autonomously.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax professional seeking a flexible interim assignment where they can provide senior‑level expertise and make a tangible contribution.
