The Housing Standards Team are responsible for overseeing housing conditions, landlord licencing and from 1 st May 2026, when the Renters’ Rights Act, is introduced, tenancy enforcement matters.

Job requirements:

Working as part of the Housing Standards Team in this role you will take responsibility for leading our preparation for the new Renters’ Rights Act, and once operational from the 1 st May 2026 to manage a small team to manage a caseload of tenancy enforcement work; investigating potential breaches of legislation relating to the act and taking enforcement action where necessary.

The role is an exciting opportunity to shape a new area of Sefton’s housing service, supporting tenants and delivering a range of new duties introduced by the act.

Closing Date - 8 th March 2026

Interviews will take place for shortlisted candidates week commencing 23 rd March 2026.
