Research and Policy Officer

VANRATH is currently recruiting for a Research and Policy Officer to join a respected organisation within the third sector. This is an excellent opportunity for a research and policy professional to contribute to strategic research, policy development and public affairs activity, while monitoring key education policy and legislative developments and advising senior stakeholders on their potential impact. £17.69 per hour Contract to 31/03/2026 (with possibility of extension) Play a key role across research, policy and public affairs Work closely with senior management and key stakeholders About your next employer You will join an established organisation supporting the controlled education sector, working as an integral member of the Marketing, Research and Communications team. About you The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor's Degree (Level 6 or equivalent) which involves research and is relevant to the post, alongside a minimum of one year's experience working within a research, policy and/or public affairs environment.

You will have demonstrable experience of:
Researching information to support policy development Monitoring policy developments relevant to an organisation Working within a multi-disciplinary team Advising on policy developments and their potential implications Working with research and policy information Managing priorities and meeting deadlines

Experience of working with external stakeholders and developing surveys, including preparation, analysis and reporting, would be highly desirable. A relevant postgraduate qualification would also be advantageous. What you'll do Monitor policy, legislative and other developments relevant to the organisation Identify the implications of policy and legislative developments and advise senior management accordingly Contribute to and, where required, produce responses to government consultations Prepare relevant external and internal communications, including press articles and fact sheets Work with senior management to develop and undertake research and policy projects supporting strategic objectives Advise and support officers on education policy matters Develop bespoke surveys, including preparation, analysis and reporting Assist with the organisation of events and dissemination activities Establish and maintain a stakeholder grid Provide effective updates and analysis on relevant policy developments Undertake any other relevant duties as reasonably allocated.
