Location: Waldo Hospital, Maine Health Podiatry, Belfast
Position Type: Full or Part Time, 32‑hour per week.
Sign‑On Bonus- 0–1 years of experience: $4,000 (full time)
- 1+ years of experience: $5,000 (full time)
Bonus prorated for part‑time hires. Part‑time per diem hires are ineligible. Current Maine Health members and former members who separated less than 6 months ago are ineligible.
About the RoleMaine Health Podiatry is offering an exciting opportunity for a Medical Assistant to join our team. We are looking for candidates who enjoy a fast‑paced work environment, possess strong communication skills, maintain a positive attitude, and have a proven record of reliability. This position requires working one‑on‑one with a provider to enhance patient care and wellness through rooming, obtaining vital signs, assisting with procedures, suture removals, and returning patient calls.
A positive attitude to contribute to team spirit is essential.
- Room patients and obtain vital signs.
- Assist providers with procedures and suture removals.
- Return patient calls and coordinate care.
- Support provider throughout the patient visit.
- Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following: graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience; completed an Adult Education Medical Assistant program with 6 months of clinical experience; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi‑provider practice (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case‑by‑case basis).

Certifications:
Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification preferred or achieved within one year of eligibility. Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of start date. Full‑remote care team members are exempt from BLS certification. A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for positions located in New Hampshire. - Experience: One year as a Medical Assistant or 6 months with certification required.
