Verification Officer

The post will require a person who is highly motivated, is methodical and organized and who can offer the highest standards of accuracy, integrity and confidentiality. The post holder will be important member of the team responsible for the verification of claims made by patients to entitlement to access health care in Northern Ireland. Using the Verification Case Management Computer System, the post holder will undertake verification work to ensure the validity of patient claims to access public funded health care in Northern Ireland.

• Action and management of entitlement verification process: issue initial query letters, enter correspondence details into the case management system, assess entitlement based on information received, issue reminder or not‑entitled letters as appropriate.
• Verify the accuracy of all outputs from the Case Management System, including patient letters.
• Deal directly with patient queries by phone or in person.
• Participate in daily post opening procedures in line with existing policies and procedures.

• Five GCSEs (including GCSE English Language and GCSE Maths grades A*‑C) or equivalent qualification or higher qualification to demonstrate literacy and numeracy.
• 18 months relevant experience and one year experience working with Microsoft Office or similar.
