Shift premiums available for participating in on-call, shift duties, and out-of-hours rotas. Enhanced holiday package of up to 39 days per year. Uncapped refer-a-friend scheme. Requirements BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or DCRR is essential. Minimum of 2 years post-qualification radiography experience in a hospital setting with a range of modern imaging modalities. Current HCPC registration is required at the time of appointment. MRI PGCert and a Certificate in IV Cannulation, or a genuine willingness to undergo training for both. A keen interest in current trends and technological developments, specifically with reference to MRI.
Candidates will be subject to enhanced vetting and compliance checks, including an Enhanced Access NI check and Barred List checks for both children and vulnerable adults. Up-to-date immunisation records to complete a full occupational health review. Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, user-centric environment. Flexibility and availability to participate in a shift system to cover evening and weekend duties.
Responsibilities Perform specialist imaging primarily in MRI with rotation through general and specialised duties across various Trust sites. Maintain a high standard of work and personalised patient care, with a specific understanding of emotional needs such as nervousness or claustrophobia. Take responsibility for the care, cleanliness, and safe use of the MRI unit and accessory equipment. Proactively participate in the Radiology Quality Assurance (QA) programme and assist in the daily operational management of the service.
Support the Superintendent in ensuring efficient throughput of work and allocating emergency examinations. Supervise and teach student radiographers and other staff involved in MRI imaging. Ensure all duties are carried out in compliance with Health and Safety, IRMER, and Infection Prevention and Control policies, including being "bare below the elbows" in clinical environments. Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and the public, including those with learning difficulties or challenging behaviours.
