Sight Loss Counsellor

Job Summary

Remote, United Kingdom. Permanent, 21 hours per week. Salary £19,479 per year (£32,465 full time equivalent). Package of 27 days holiday per year (plus bank holidays), pension and staff discount scheme. Support people affected by sight loss across the UK through one‑to‑one counselling, emotional support, wellbeing sessions, group work and training.

• Provide one‑to‑one counselling to adults, children and young people affected by sight loss.
• Deliver emotional support and wellbeing sessions.
• Facilitate small group work.
• Contribute to wellbeing sessions and wider service development.
• Help deliver training to professionals.
• Collaborate with colleagues and external organisations to ensure appropriate support and information.
• Manage own caseload using telephone, online platforms and Microsoft Teams.

• Recognised 3‑year Diploma level Counselling qualification (or equivalent).
• At least 2 years’ post‑qualification counselling experience.
• Evidence of qualifications and experience in supporting statement.
