MPA Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Band 7 Advanced Practitioner Occupational Therapist to join the Special Schools Occupational Therapy Service. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to take on a clinical leadership role, supporting children and young people with complex learning disabilities and associated healthcare needs while working as part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team.

The Role

As an Advanced Practitioner, you will:

  • Lead the delivery of specialist Occupational Therapy services across Special Schools.
  • Manage a complex clinical caseload using evidence-based practice.
  • Provide clinical leadership, supervision and support to Occupational Therapy staff.
  • Work collaboratively with education staff, parents, carers and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Support service development and help shape high-quality Occupational Therapy provision.
  • Assess and advise on specialist seating, wheelchairs, postural management and sensory integration interventions.
What We're Looking For

Applicants should have:

  • HCPC registration and a recognised Occupational Therapy qualification.
  • A minimum of 5 years' post-registration experience, including 3 years at Band 6 level.
  • At least 2 years' experience working with children with complex learning disabilities and associated conditions.
  • Experience in sensory integration, postural management and specialist equipment provision.
  • Strong leadership, communication and clinical decision-making skills.
