MPA Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Band 7 Advanced Practitioner Occupational Therapist to join the Special Schools Occupational Therapy Service. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to take on a clinical leadership role, supporting children and young people with complex learning disabilities and associated healthcare needs while working as part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team.
The RoleAs an Advanced Practitioner, you will:
- Lead the delivery of specialist Occupational Therapy services across Special Schools.
- Manage a complex clinical caseload using evidence-based practice.
- Provide clinical leadership, supervision and support to Occupational Therapy staff.
- Work collaboratively with education staff, parents, carers and multidisciplinary teams.
- Support service development and help shape high-quality Occupational Therapy provision.
- Assess and advise on specialist seating, wheelchairs, postural management and sensory integration interventions.
Applicants should have:
- HCPC registration and a recognised Occupational Therapy qualification.
- A minimum of 5 years' post-registration experience, including 3 years at Band 6 level.
- At least 2 years' experience working with children with complex learning disabilities and associated conditions.
- Experience in sensory integration, postural management and specialist equipment provision.
- Strong leadership, communication and clinical decision-making skills.
- Excellent Band 7 opportunity within a respected specialist paediatric service.
