One You Kent is Kent’s free, countywide lifestyle and wellbeing service, supporting adults to make positive, sustainable changes to improve their health and reduce the risk of long-term conditions. The service provides evidence-based support including smoking cessation (whole of Kent), weight management, physical activity and healthy lifestyle interventions (East Kent only), delivered through a strengths-based, person-centred approach. Working closely with GP practices, Primary Care Networks, local authorities and community and voluntary sector partners, One You Kent is embedded within local communities to ensure support is accessible, inclusive and responsive to local need.

The service plays a key role in reducing health inequalities across Kent through partnership working, community engagement and flexible delivery models.

The post holder will provide clinical, governance, and pharmacotherapy expertise to the Stop Smoking Service within the One You Kent service. The role will support the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality smoking cessation interventions through robust clinical governance, quality assurance, and oversight of pharmacotherapy pathways.

Working as part of the wider One You Kent team, the post holder will contribute to continuous improvement, assurance, and regulatory compliance across the service, ensuring practice aligns with national guidance, contractual requirements, and local population health priorities.

As a Clinical Governance and Pharmacotherapy Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality Stop Smoking Services across One You Kent. You will lead and undertake monthly clinical audits and service observations, providing oversight of quality assurance activity to ensure consistency, compliance, and continuous improvement across the service. Working closely with the Professional Lead, you will contribute to governance reporting, service development initiatives, and the implementation of quality improvement actions arising from audits and reviews.

The role includes providing pharmacist oversight and clinical sign-off for Patient Group Directions (PGDs) where appropriate, ensuring they remain safe, compliant, and fit for purpose. You will support pharmacotherapy governance through the auditing of dispensing and supply practices, monitoring referrals to prescribers, reviewing and updating Standard Operating Procedures, and contributing to training materials, service development projects, and bid submissions. In addition, you will support a range of governance and assurance activities, including quality audits and compliance monitoring, while developing action plans to address findings and improve service performance.

The successful candidate will represent the service in external partnership forums, including Local Pharmaceutical Committee discussions, support the training and clinical development of Stop Smoking Advisors, and deputise for the Professional Lead across One You Kent and other ABL services when required. You will maintain professional registration and practice in accordance with regulatory standards, ensure compliance with information governance and data protection requirements, and actively promote equality, diversity, and inclusion throughout all aspects of service delivery.

• A registered pharmacist or experienced registered healthcare professional (Nurse/Paramedic) with a strong interest in clinical governance, quality improvement, and public health services?
• Proactive and highly organised, with experience supporting safe, effective pharmacotherapy delivery within community or lifestyle services?
• Confident and professional, able to provide credible clinical oversight and engage effectively with practitioners, prescribers, commissioners, and partners?
• Detail-focused and analytical, with experience undertaking audits, reviewing clinical practice, and identifying continuous improvement opportunities?
• A clear and influential communicator, able to translate clinical and governance requirements into practical guidance for frontline teams?
