Support Worker, Caregiver

REPORTS TO:

Deputy Manager/Senior Support Worker Parkanaur Residential Home, Supported Living and Day Opportunities service supports people with learning or physical disabilities in a residential and supported living environment. The post-holder will be part of a team delivering care and support to the service users of Parkanaur Trust. The post-holder will be required to act on their own initiative, within the framework of Policies and Procedures and in accordance with the Thomas Doran Parkanaur Trust Statement of Main Terms and Conditions of Employment and Staff Handbook.

Key Duties and Responsibilities Provide day-to-day practical and emotional support to residents in accordance with individual support plans Promote independence, dignity, privacy, and respect at all times Supportresidentswithpersonalcarewhererequired,ensuringcareisdelivered sensitively and respectfully Assistwithdailylivingactivities,includingmealpreparation,householdtasks,and budgeting where appropriate Supportresidentstoaccesscommunityactivities,appointments,andsocial opportunities Encourageandsupportindividualstodevelopandmaintainlifeskillsandpersonal goals Administermedicationinlinewith Parkanaur Trustpoliciesandtraining (where authorised) Maintain accurate and timely records, including daily notes, incident reports, and handovers Work effectively as part of a team Adhere to all Parkanaur Trust policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health and safety, and confidentiality Participate fully in induction, training, supervision, and appraisal processes Work flexibly to meet service needs, Safeguarding Responsibilities Parkanaur Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults.

Essential Criteria A caring, patient, and compassionate approach Commitment to person-centred values and practice Ability to work effectively as part of a team Good verbal and written communication skills Willingness to work flexible hours, Understanding of the importance of dignity, respect, and equality Desirable Criteria NVQ / QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards) Experience working in a care setting Knowledge of person-centred planning and positive behaviour support
