Levenside Medical Practice, located within Dumbarton Health Centre, is a friendly, dynamic training practice providing high-quality care to over 8,600 patients.
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, hardworking and reliable Medical Receptionist to join our large multidisciplinary team.
Hours of WorkThis post offers up to 31.5 hours per week.
The successful candidate must be available to work between the hours of 8.00am and 6.00pm. While the role is expected to include a number of afternoon shifts ending at 6.00pm, the exact shift pattern will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate.
We would also be willing to consider splitting the available hours between two part-time candidates, and therefore applications from individuals seeking fewer hours are welcomed.
Flexibility is essential, as the successful candidate(s) will be required to provide additional cover for annual leave, sickness absence and service demands.
About YouWe are seeking an individual with:
- National 5 qualifications (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics, or demonstrable literacy and numeracy skills.
- Previous customer service experience.
- Strong IT literacy and confidence in learning new systems and processes.
- The ability to work accurately and efficiently in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- The ability to remain calm, professional and organised while working under pressure.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- Experience of working with confidential information and maintaining data protection standards.
- A strong commitment to teamwork, patient care and confidentiality.
Experience of working in a healthcare setting would be advantageous.
As the practice has recently migrated to the Vision clinical system, previous experience of Vision would also be beneficial; however, full training will be provided.
Main DutiesThe role will include:
- Dealing with patients at reception and over the telephone.
- Processing prescriptions and incoming correspondence.
- Signposting patients to the most appropriate clinician or service.
- Handling enquiries from secondary care providers and pharmacies.
- Undertaking other administrative duties as directed by management.
