Forensic Psychologist in Training

Location: HMP Addiewell
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday
Working Pattern: 08:00 - 16:00, with some flexibility required to meet business needs
Salary: £34,789, progressing to £40,850 once qualified

Sodexo Justice Services is looking for a motivated and committed Forensic Psychologist in Training (FPiT) to join the psychology team at HMP Addiewell
.

Working alongside a Sodexo-employed Practitioner Psychologist and under the supervision of an on-site PSUK Consultant Psychologist, you will develop your professional skills within a supportive, structured and multidisciplinary environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring forensic psychologist to gain valuable experience within a custodial setting while progressing towards professional registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

You will contribute to the delivery of evidence-based psychological interventions, offending-behaviour programmes, assessments and rehabilitation planning. You will also work closely with colleagues across the prison to support effective risk management and positive outcomes for individuals in custody.

• Support the selection and delivery of accredited offending-behaviour interventions.
• Undertake psychological and risk-related assessments and present findings at multidisciplinary case conferences.
• Deliver moderate- and high-intensity offending-behaviour programmes in group and individual formats.
• Develop and deliver bespoke psychological interventions under the direction of the Consultant Psychologist.
• Provide psychological knowledge and professional input within multidisciplinary meetings.
• Support the case management of individuals subject to an Order for Lifelong Restriction (OLR).
• Contribute to psychological research, projects and staff training.
• Manage psychology referrals and contribute to the assessment and management of prisoner care needs.
• Maintain accurate systems for recording, monitoring and analysing psychological activity and outcomes.
• Ensure psychological data is managed in accordance with data-protection legislation and organisational policies.
• Communicate psychological information and relevant data clearly to appropriate colleagues and stakeholders.
• Contribute to creating a safe, constructive and rehabilitation-focused custodial environment.

Applicants must have:

• A Degree in Psychology conferring Graduate Basis for Chartership (GBC) with the British Psychological Society (BPS).
• Successful completion of the academic component of training towards registered status, such as an MSc in Forensic Psychology.
• The ability and commitment to enrol on the BPS Stage 2 accredited Qualification in Forensic Psychology, working towards HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist status.

The successful candidate must be willing to undergo Disclosure Scotland Level 2 Enhanced
