We are urgently seeking three experienced female Agency Support Workers to join our healthcare client, Praxis Healthcare, in Londonderry, supporting an individual with complex physical and healthcare needs. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced candidates, with the potential to become a permanent position. The individual has a mild learning disability, profound physical disability, pontocerebellar hypoplasia and osteoporosis, and is wheelchair dependent.
Due to the level of support required, two staff members must be present at all times to safely support transfers, repositioning and manual handling. The role offers competitive hourly rates of £13.50 £ 17.50, depending on the shift pattern. Shifts are available 8am8pm or 8pm8am. This is a temporary position with an immediate start, initially for three months, with the potential to continue on an ongoing basis and the opportunity to secure a permanent role.
The successful candidates are preferred to have up-to-date experience and training in PEG care. If PEG training is not recent, refresher training can be provided. Experience in specialist feeding equipment, secretion management, oral swabbing and suction, as well as monitoring for swallowing and choking risk is also required. We are looking for compassionate, reliable and experienced female Support Workers who are confident working in a 2:1 care environment and have the appropriate skills and competencies to provide safe, person-centred care.
