Care Experienced Apprenticeships Advisor Location Badminton Road Salary Range £32,597 - £35,412 Job Description How you'll make a difference
As a Care Experienced Apprenticeships Advisor, you will play a key role in creating meaningful employment opportunities for care-experienced young people across South Gloucestershire.
Through apprenticeships, internships and other employment pathways, you will help young people develop confidence, gain valuable skills and achieve sustainable career outcomes. What you will be doing- Working collaboratively with colleagues, partners and providers, you will coordinate and support apprenticeship and internship opportunities for care-experienced young people and employers across South Gloucestershire. You will provide end-to-end support throughout their journey, from recruitment and onboarding through to successful completion and progression into sustained employment.
- Using a trauma-informed and person-centred approach, you will offer tailored advice, guidance and practical support, helping young people to overcome barriers, develop key skills and achieve their personal and professional goals.
- Working directly with care-experienced young people, you will provide tailored support to help them access employment opportunities within the Council. You will coordinate and support their journey from application and recruitment through to onboarding and integration into the workplace, offering ongoing guidance to both the young person and hiring managers.
- You will build strong relationships with stakeholders to promote inclusive employment opportunities, supporting positive workplace experiences and identifying new pathways that enable young people to thrive.
- Through the effective use of data and performance insights, you will monitor programme activity, evaluate impact and contribute to the continuous improvement of apprenticeship and employment initiatives, ensuing they align with the council's workforce and inclusion objectives.
- It is essential that you hold a relevant qualification in education, employability, mentoring, coaching or safeguarding, or can demonstrate equivalent relevant experience.
- You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build, develop and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- We are looking for someone who understands the challenges faced by care-experienced young people, care leavers or individuals facing barriers to employment. You will adopt a supportive and inclusive approach, helping individuals overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
- You need to be highly organised, with the ability to manage a varied workload, prioritise competing demands and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Given the nature of the role, you must have experience of coaching, mentoring or supporting individuals to build confidence, develop skills and increase independence, enabling them to achieve positive education, training or employment outcomes.
- It would be advantageous to have experience working within apprenticeship or education related services, alongside knowledge of trauma-informed practice and inclusive employment approaches.
- This role sits within the Recruitment team and works closely with colleagues across Human Resources, Learning and Development and the wider People Department.
- This is a limited term contract for a period of 12 months.
- You must hold a full, valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle or have an alternative means of travel as you will be expected to travel throughout the authority.
- Please note that due to the nature of this role, it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained.
