Head of HR

Your new company Hays has been exclusively retained to appoint a Head of HR for a successful and growing Northern Ireland business operating within a complex, project-led and operational environment. This is a rare opportunity to join a leadership team at a pivotal stage of growth, partnering closely with senior stakeholders to shape workforce strategy, organisational capability and business performance.

Working directly with executive leadership, you will influence key business decisions, lead an established HR function and play a central role in supporting the organisation's next phase of development. Your new role Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, the Head of HR will lead the people agenda across a multi-disciplined workforce, balancing strategic leadership with operational delivery. This is a highly commercial role where workforce decisions, people data and organisational capability directly influence business performance.

Working closely with executive leaders, you will align workforce planning, organisational design, succession planning and capability development with broader business objectives. Using people insight, workforce data and commercial analysis, you will help drive informed decision-making across the organisation. You will have responsibility for the full HR remit, including payroll, pensions, reward, benefits, employee relations, performance management, leadership development and organisational change.

Alongside the strategic agenda, you will lead and develop an established HR team, drive continuous improvement across systems and processes, and ensure the organisation continues to provide an inclusive, safe and supportive working environment. What you'll need to succeed Significant senior HR leadership experience as a Head of HR, HR Director or equivalent within a commercially focused organisation.

Experience with in manufacturing, engineering, construction, infrastructure or a similarly operational environment. A strong track record of linking workforce and people decisions to measurable commercial outcomes. Experience influencing, partnering with and constructively challenging executive stakeholders. Responsibility for payroll, pensions, reward and benefits alongside broader HR leadership responsibilities. Strong workforce planning, organisational design, people analytics, employee relations and team leadership experience. Demonstrable experience leading business change, organisational improvement and transformation initiatives.
