Dynamics 365 CE and Power Platform Functional Consultant
As a Dynamics 365 CE and Power Platform Functional Consultant, you will bridge the gap between IT capability and business expectations on Microsoft Dynamics projects. You will lead a team of functional consultants, collaborate with clients to design and build solutions based on Dynamics 365 CE and Power Platform, including the use of AI features, to deliver benefits for them and their customers.
Responsibilities- Identify opportunities to leverage the full range of platform features.
- Balance the benefits and risks of customization and recommend the optimal approach to support client needs.
- Guide the team in delivering discovery workshops, creating functional designs, configuring solutions, supporting testing, assisting with data migration, delivering training, and supporting implementation.
- Lead larger teams of functional consultants on sizable and complex projects, identify priorities, assign tasks, and allocate resources and skill sets effectively.
- Build relationships with counterparts across disciplines and manage dependencies between teams, including client teams.
- Manage and coach staff, focusing on performance management, career development, wellbeing, inclusion, workload, and stress levels.
- Expertise in Microsoft Dynamics CE and Power Platform products, including Sales, Customer Service, Customer Insights, Field Service, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, Copilot Studio, and Power BI.
- Deep understanding of AI features within Microsoft Dynamics CE and Power Platform and the ability to explain their benefits to business users.
- Familiarity with related Microsoft products such as Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams, and the ability to configure integrations.
- Experience leading end‑to‑end implementations of Dynamics 365 CE or Power Platform, covering requirements analysis, design, configuration, testing, training, data migration, cutover, and reporting.
- Ability to influence solution designs with a configuration‑first approach, minimizing customization where possible to reduce implementation and maintenance risks and costs.
- Proficiency in demonstrating out‑of‑the‑box functionality to business and technical stakeholders, showcasing how the product supports core business processes.
- Experience designing and building classic and Power Automate workflows to automate complex tasks.
- Pre‑sales support experience responding to ITTs, RFPs, and RFQs, and contributing to sales by defining resource plans and solution approaches.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including interviewing stakeholders, shadowing users, delivering discovery workshops, business process mapping, and identifying business benefits.
- Lead by example by sharing knowledge from past experiences and providing implementation plans that mitigate risk and deliver positive outcomes.
- Remain calm and professional in high‑pressure environments and call out concerns or seek advice when needed.
- Be approachable, open to guiding junior colleagues, helping them manage workload, cope with challenges, and support each other, especially in remote or client‑facing contexts.
- Set clear expectations for behaviour, speed, and quality of delivery that reflect the professionalism and service standards expected of the team and support personal growth, achievement, and satisfaction.
