Job Description & How to Apply Below
The Role This is not a report-building role. Our client is looking for a Data and Analytics Engineer who can take genuine ownership of the data landscape, design and build pipelines, implement governance frameworks and introduce modern data platform technologies across the business. Sitting somewhere between a Data Architect and a Report Developer, this role carries real strategic weight. You will work directly with architecture teams, influence tooling and platform decisions, and help define the long-term data strategy.
For the right person, there is a clear path towards Data Lead, Data Architect or Head of Data responsibilities over time.
Key Responsibilities Own the data landscape across the organisation, understanding where data originates and how it should be consumed Design, build and manage data pipelines and ETL processes from scratch Implement data governance frameworks, standards and best practices Evaluate and introduce modern data platform technologies including Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake and Databricks Support self-service analytics across the business, enabling teams to access and use data independently Own and maintain KPIs, metrics and datasets to ensure accuracy and business alignment Leverage AI tools to improve analytics workflows, data engineering processes and reporting capabilities Create and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports where required Collaborate with architecture teams to shape the future data strategy Mentor and support junior team members as the function grows What You'll Need Essential: 3 to 7 years of experience in a data engineering or analytics engineering role, with capability and initiative valued over years alone Proven ability to design and build data pipelines and manage ETL processes
Experience with data architecture design and data governance implementation Hands-on experience with modern data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake or Databricks Competent in Power BI for dashboard and report development Strong understanding of data management principles including data quality, lineage and lifecycle A problem-solving mindset with the ability to introduce new ideas and drive strategic change Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills Desirable:
Experience leveraging AI tools within analytics or data engineering workflows Exposure to broader digital transformation initiatives Experience mentoring junior data team members Background in a manufacturing or industrial environment Why Apply? Salary of £50,000 to £55,000 Join at ground level during a significant data transformation with real influence over tooling, architecture and governance decisions Clear progression path towards Data Lead, Data Architect or Head of Data over time Work directly with architecture teams and senior leadership in a high-trust, high-ownership environment A leadership team that is genuinely invested in AI and modern data practices Interested?
