The Role
We are seeking a Senior Engineering Operations Administrator to elevate our Atlassian ecosystem to institutional‑grade standards. In this role, you will be the architect of our "System of Record," ensuring our Jira instance meets the rigorous security, audit, and governance requirements expected of a leading financial institution. You will transition our workflows from flexible startup processes to a robust, fully auditable framework, working closely with our security and IAM teams to maintain a hardened environment.
If this opportunity excites you, we encourage you to apply even if you do not meet all of the qualifications.
Key Responsibilities for Regulatory ReadinessGovernance & Control: Design and enforce workflows that satisfy SOX, PCI‑DSS, and GDPR requirements. This includes implementing mandatory "separation of duties" and automated approval gates for production changes.
Audit Documentation: Maintain a pristine, immutable history of configuration changes. You are responsible for ensuring that the "Chain of Custody" for every software release is easily retrievable for internal and external auditors.
Change Control Process: Implement a formal "Sandbox-to-Production" lifecycle for all Jira configuration updates. Every change to the Jira environment must itself follow a documented approval path.
Access
Collaboration:
Work cross-collaboratively to ensure Atlassian Guard, SSO, and MFA configurations align with our "Least Privilege" security posture.Executive Visibility: Build advanced dashboards that monitor "Material Risk" and project health, providing the leadership team with real‑time data on compliance posture and engineering velocity.
Dev Ops Integration: Deep integration with Git Hub Enterprise and CI/CD pipelines to automate the linking of Jira tickets to code commits.
Data Sovereignty: Knowledge of Atlassian Data Residency to ensure compliance with regional financial data storage laws.
Advanced Scripting: Proficiency in Script Runner for complex workflow validations (e.g., ensuring no user can transition a ticket they originally created).
Experience: 5+ years in Jira Administration, specifically within the Financial Services or Banking sectors.
Audit Expertise: Proven experience participating in formal regulatory audits or SOC2 Type II examinations.
The "Zero‑Trust" Mindset: You treat Jira configuration with the same rigor as a production banking application, valuing stability and auditability over "quick fixes."
Bonus Points: Experience with Atlassian Guard (Access) or Identity Management is a plus, though you will be supported by a dedicated IAM Engineer.
