AgeYou may join between the ages of 16 and 36. At the time of application you must be between 15 years and 7 months old and 35 years and 11 months old. Training can begin at the Army Foundation College from the age of 16 years and 6 months.
Education & RequirementsGCSE grade 4 (C) or above in Maths or ICT (or equivalent RQF level 2), and GCSE level 3 (D) or above in English (or equivalent). A basic maths and English functional skill level 2 is required.
Starting pay is £27,282 per year, with potential raises after completion of initial trade training and as further qualifications are achieved.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, configure, deploy and maintain tactical and operational communications systems.
- Engineer a range of systems including radios, satellite links, computer networks and mobile communications.
- Provide support for software applications that run on communication equipment.
- Build, configure and manage networks, troubleshoot issues, and maintain field generators and security controls.
- Assist with security clearance procedures and maintain confidentiality of operational information.
