The Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Marketing Engineer to lead the readiness and enablement of AMD FPGA and Adaptive SoC platforms. This hybrid role combines responsibilities for board design, solution development, and evaluation board enablement, ensuring AMD platforms are customer-ready and deliver exceptional value. As part of the Product Software and Solutions team, you will work at the intersection of hardware engineering, software tools, field enablement, and technical marketing.
You will play a pivotal role in defining, validating, and promoting complete FPGA solutions, enabling customers to rapidly adopt AMD technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Board and Solution Readiness:
Drive board and solution readiness for AMD FPGA platforms, ensuring customers have the hardware, documentation, and technical guidance needed for successful product development. Provide technical guidance on FPGA-based board design, including schematic reviews, PCB layout, power delivery, signal integrity, thermal considerations, and board bring-up. Lead out-of-box experience testing of AMD FPGA evaluation boards and reference platforms, validating the complete customer experience from initial board bring-up through software installation, example design execution, and feature evaluation.
Evaluate development boards and reference platforms to ensure they meet customer use cases and are ready for production adoption. Evaluation Board Enablement:
Serve as the primary owner for assigned evaluation boards from early access through general availability. Define and communicate Day-1 usable evaluation modes, supported workflows, tools, reference designs, and known limitations. Validate tools, reference designs, and board collateral prior to board shipment to ensure a smooth, repeatable bring-up experience for customers and field teams. Develop and maintain customer-facing evaluation collateral, including user guides, quick starts, demo guides, and known-issues documentation.
Technical Enablement and Customer Support:
Deliver technical presentations, customer workshops, webinars, and product training. Enable FAEs and technical specialists with tested, documented evaluation flows and clear positioning of supported use cases. Support customer engagements, industry events, and trade shows through demo planning, board allocation coordination, and backup strategies. Capture customer feedback to influence future board designs, reference platforms, and solution roadmaps. Tool, Demo, and System Validation:
Partner with tools teams (Vivado, Vitis, platform tools) to validate evaluation workflows and provide structured feedback. Ensure demo environments are stable, repeatable, and defensible in customer-facing settings. Translate hardware capability into clear, staged evaluation narratives suitable for customers and FAEs Required profile
The Person :
The ideal candidate:
Is passionate about FPGA technology and enabling customers to develop innovative solutions. Has extensive experience designing, debugging, and validating FPGA-based systems. Understands the complete board development lifecycle, from architecture through validation and production. Communicates complex technical concepts effectively to customers, partners, and internal teams. Thrives in a collaborative, cross-functional environment and is comfortable managing multiple priorities. Is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of making technical trade-off decisions in fast-moving environments.
Preferred Experience:
Experience designing complex FPGA-based platforms using AMD adaptive SoCs and FPGAs, from architecture through bring-up, validation, and production. Strong understanding of high-speed digital board design, including PCB stack-up development, signal integrity, power integrity, power delivery, and thermal design considerations. Knowledge of high-speed memory and I/O interfaces, including DDR/LPDDR, PCIe, Ethernet, USB, Display Port, HDMI, MIPI, JESD
204, and other embedded interfaces. Familiarity with AMD FPGA and Adaptive SoC families, including Versal, Zynq Ultra Scale, Virtex, Kintex, Artix, Spartan, and Kria platforms. Experience using AMD FPGA development tools such as Vivado and Vitis, with…
