The Platform Database Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, administering, and optimizing MongoDB (Atlas and on‑premise) within a large-scale, cloud-based enterprise ecosystem. This role blends deep database engineering expertise with SRE principles to ensure performance, reliability, scalability, and automation across mission‑critical data platforms.

• Architect, implement, and maintain MongoDB Atlas and non‑Atlas environments, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.

• Design and enforce resiliency and disaster recovery strategies, including backup, restore, and multi‑region failover.

• Optimize database performance and query execution to support application development teams throughout all SDLC phases.

• Develop and manage infrastructure‑as‑code solutions (Terraform, Git Ops) for database provisioning and automation.

• Implement and refine observability and monitoring solutions using Dynatrace, Cloud Watch, and MongoDB native telemetry.

• Manage access control, auditing, and encryption to meet enterprise security and compliance requirements.

• Collaborate closely with application, Dev Ops, and platform teams to continuously improve reliability, performance, and operational excellence.

• Lead incident response for database‑related issues, drive root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventative measures.

• Mentor and guide technical teams, contributing to documentation, standards, and design reviews.

• 4+ years of experience as a MongoDB DBA, including 4+ years administering MongoDB Atlas.

• Strong experience with the AWS ecosystem (EC2, EKS, Cloud Watch, IAM, KMS, VPC, Lambda).

• Proficiency in Terraform, Git Ops, CI/CD automation, and containerized workloads (EKS/Kubernetes).

• Experience with Dynatrace, Prometheus, or equivalent observability platforms.

• Strong Linux administration expertise and scripting skills (Python, Bash).

• Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.

• Ability to participate in on‑call rotation and incident response.

• Travel requirement:
