Water Aid is an established international charity seeking a Business Insight Analyst to support evidence-based decision-making across the organisation.
About the RoleWorking within the Data & Analytics team, the role will turn organisational data into clear, trusted insight, with a particular focus on People, Finance and cross-organisational management information. The successful candidate will design and maintain reporting, support data strategy development and work with stakeholders to translate business needs into practical analytical solutions. The role offers significant exposure to senior decision-makers and the opportunity to contribute to organisational effectiveness through improved reporting, data quality and self-service insight.
Responsibilities- Design, build and maintain reports and dashboards using Power BI.
- Present complex information clearly to support effective decision-making.
- Help shape the organisation’s People data strategy and approach to workforce planning and strategic decision-making.
- Support Finance reporting and analysis, including changes to data pipelines in collaboration with engineering and finance-systems colleagues.
- Enable and quality-assure self-service reporting for Finance users.
- Maintain and develop cross-organisational management information.
- Produce and enhance quarterly and live reporting for senior leadership.
- Work with stakeholders to understand business goals and translate them into clear reporting and data requirements.
- Monitor data quality, maintain appropriate documentation and identify issues within a data stewardship model.
- Contribute to organisational commitments relating to equity, inclusion and safeguarding.
- Practical data analysis skills, including the ability to manipulate and investigate data using SQL and DAX.
- Strong data visualisation and reporting skills, particularly using Power BI.
- Ability to translate complex information into clear insight and recommendations for decision-makers.
- Good business analysis skills, including stakeholder engagement and requirements gathering.
- Ability to translate business objectives into clear reporting and data requirements.
- A methodical and careful approach to data quality and documentation.
- Confidence in monitoring data and identifying data quality issues.
- Experience working with data across corporate or back-office functions such as People/HR or Finance.
- Experience translating business requirements into data or data warehouse logic alongside engineers.
