Technology Specialist - Enablement

Role Purpose

At Morrisons, we manage a complex, fast-evolving landscape of technology infrastructure, automated delivery pipelines, and AI driven systems. Maintaining exceptional service availability for our customers is critical, but so is our ability to deliver business agility at speed.

In this role, you will focus on all aspects of the Change Enablement function with a focus on the adoption and implementation of AI technologies and automation. Reporting to the Technology Manager - Change Enablement, you will work to protect the production environment while enabling projects and initiatives to progress safely and rapidly. You will be responsible for implementing AI-assisted change governance, configuring automated risk scoring, and deploying predictive analytics into our technology ecosystem, moving the function from manual gatekeeping toward continuous, data-driven change enablement

• ITSM & Automation Execution:
  Implement and maintain automated change creation, predictive change risk algorithms, and automated approval workflows within Service Now, driving maximum value from modern ITSM platforms.
• AI-Driven Standards Support:
  Collaborate with Technology & Data teams to apply clear governance, auditability, and change standards for Machine Learning model updates, automated algorithms, and data pipeline releases.
• Continuous Improvement Support:
  Help continuous improvement initiatives across the Change Enablement lifecycle, ope rationalising policies that accommodate Agile, Dev Ops, and AI/ML release models alongside traditional infrastructure.

• Risk Mitigation & Telemetry:
  Configure and utilise telemetry, operational metrics, and predictive risk analytics to proactively flag high-risk changes prior to implementation, protecting the production environment.
• Post-Incident Analysis:
  Partner with Incident and Problem Management to support Post Major Incident Reviews (PMIR) for change-induced issues, ensuring root causes translate directly into process and predictive risk model refinements.
• Exception-Based Review Enablement:
  Support the shift of traditional Change Advisory Boards toward dynamic, exception-based reviews by providing data-backed risk scoring and documentation for complex or high-risk deployments.
• Change Advisory Board:
  Chair the various change boards including main CAB, Director approval call, business change boards and any other necessary related governance forums

• Initiative & Project Enablement:
  Act as a subject matter expert to train, coach, and guide project and delivery teams on adopting AI-enabled change governance, balancing agility with service protection.
• Partner & Supplier Integration:
  Work with third-party strategic partners and technology suppliers to integrate their release workflows with Morrisons’ modern change standards and automated systems.
• Audit Readiness & Documentation:
  Maintain comprehensive technical documentation of automated change systems and risk models, providing clear evidence during regulatory and internal audit reviews

• Modern Delivery Frameworks:
  Practical understanding and hands-on experience with development pipelines, Dev Ops culture, Agile release practices, and cloud-native technology environments.
• ITSM Configuration & Tooling:
  Proven experience using or configuring modern ITSM platforms (preferably Service Now), including exposure to automated change velocity modules, virtual agents, or predictive risk scoring.
• AI & Data Literacy:
  Familiarity with MLOps concepts, data pipelines, algorithm deployments, and the unique lifecycle risks associated with Machine Learning models.
• Data-Driven Problem Solving:
  Ability to query and analyse operational telemetry, change logs, and system metrics to identify process bottlenecks and optimise predictive risk models.
