Job Description & How to Apply Below
I'm working with a leading global professional services firm to find an additional Penetration Tester to their growing security team. This is a hands‑on specialist role where you'll be the go‑to expert for security testing across the firm. You'll lead the testing, own the tools and processes behind it, and turn findings into practical recommendations that actually improve how the firm manages risk.
Dayto day
- Leading penetration testing across the firm's systems, platforms and applications
- Owning and managing the core testing tools, platforms and processes as the function's subject matter expert
- Validating vulnerabilities accurately and writing clear reports pitched at the right level for technical and non‑technical audiences
- Testing AI‑enabled applications and agents, and using AI to sharpen your own testing
- Helping put together internal training materials and documentation
- Deep penetration testing knowledge, including a clear understanding of where a vulnerability assessment ends and a pen test begins
- Hands‑on experience with tools such as Nessus, App Scan, Burp Suite, Nipper, Metasploit, Kali and Wireshark
- Mobile platform security experience
- Strong manual application testing skills and a solid command of OWASP, CVEs and current exploits
- API testing experience and scripting or programming ability would be a big plus
- Someone who keeps on top of the threat landscape, stays calm under pressure and can explain complex issues to anyone
- CISSP and OSCP are essential
- GIAC GPEN, GWAPT or GAIPT would be a bonus
- A Computer Science degree or equivalent experience
You'd be the technical authority for penetration testing within a global firm, with real ownership over how testing is done and the freedom to shape it. It's a specialist track role, so the focus stays on the technical work rather than pulling you into management.
Benefits- 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, rising with service up to 28 days
- Private medical insurance
- Contributory pension with employer matching up to 8%
- Life assurance at 4x basic salary and income protection
- 24/7 virtual GP for you and your family
- Flexible and agile working options
- Corporate gym membership
- Career development opportunities, recognition awards and a referral scheme
