We are seeking an experienced and commercially aware Senior Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant to join our growing Business Central practice.

This is a senior, client-facing role with responsibility for leading the functional delivery of complex Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central implementations across the full project lifecycle. You will work closely with customers to understand their strategic priorities, business processes and operational challenges, translating these requirements into practical, scalable and effective Business Central solutions.

You will lead discovery and solution-design workshops, own functional work streams, guide customers through key decisions and ensure that solutions are delivered in line with agreed scope, quality and business outcomes. You will also play an important role in pre-sales activity, customer account development and the mentoring of less-experienced consultants.

The successful candidate will combine deep Business Central and finance process expertise with strong consulting, stakeholder management and delivery leadership skills.

• Lead the functional delivery of end-to-end Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Dynamics NAV implementation projects.
• Take ownership of functional work streams from initial discovery and requirements gathering through solution design, configuration, testing, training, data migration, go-live and post-implementation support.
• Lead structured discovery workshops with senior stakeholders, subject-matter experts and business users.
• Analyse complex business processes, operational requirements and existing systems to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Translate business requirements into clear scalable Business Central solution designs.
• Challenge requirements constructively where standard Business Central functionality or an improved process would deliver a better outcome.
• Define the functional architecture for Business Central solutions, including the appropriate use of standard functionality, configuration, integrations, extensions and complementary applications.
• Produce high-quality functional specifications, solution design documents, process maps, configuration workbooks and decision logs.
• Work closely with technical architects, developers and integration specialists to ensure that functional requirements are understood and delivered correctly.
• Ensure that proposed solutions align with customer objectives, agreed scope and established implementation standards.

• Lead functional planning and delivery across multiple project phases and work streams.
• Provide clear estimates, delivery assumptions and functional dependencies to project managers and delivery leads.
• Manage customer expectations throughout the project lifecycle, identifying potential gaps between requested functionality, agreed scope and available budget.
• Support the planning and execution of system integration testing, user acceptance testing and regression testing.
• Develop test scenarios and acceptance criteria that reflect business requirements and end-to-end processes.
• Guide customers through data migration planning, including data preparation, validation, reconciliation and cutover activities.
• Lead functional readiness reviews and support go-live planning and implementation.
• Provide structured hyper-care and post-go-live support, ensuring that issues are prioritised, investigated and resolved effectively.
• Maintain accurate records of requirements, decisions, actions, risks, issues and solution changes.
