Commercial Litigation Solicitor

Abacus is hiring a Commercial Litigation Solicitor (with a Construction focus) at junior to mid-level PQE to join a highly reputable firm with a highly regarded Disputes team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex, high-value disputes for major corporates, developers, contractors, insurers, and public sector clients.

You will advise on a broad range of commercial disputes, with a particular emphasis on construction and engineering matters, including:

• Construction and engineering disputes (TCC matters)
• Adjudications, arbitrations, and High Court litigation
• Disputes arising from JCT, NEC, and bespoke construction contracts
• Professional negligence claims involving construction professionals
• Delay, disruption, and defects claims
• General commercial litigation matters.

You will work closely with partners on significant cases while gaining increasing responsibility for managing matters and client relationships.

A Qualified Solicitor with circa typically 1 to 5 years PQE in Commercial Litigation along with:

• Experience in construction-related disputes or a strong interest in specialising
• Familiarity with litigation procedure and dispute resolution processes
• Excellent drafting, analytical, and advocacy preparation skills
• Strong organisational ability and attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Direct experience of adjudication and/or arbitration proceedings
• Technical understanding of construction projects or industry background
• Dual qualification is a bonus.
