Buyer
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Buyer to join a leading UK manufacturing and technology business. This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional with experience sourcing materials and equipment within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for securing materials at the correct quality, quantity, price and delivery time, while supporting cost-saving initiatives and maintaining strong supplier relationships.

- Obtain competitive pricing while maintaining quality and security of supply
- Manage inventory levels and material availability using MRP and forecasting systems
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative products
- Source and introduce new suppliers
- Support supplier negotiations relating to price, quality, delivery and lead times
- Build and maintain productive relationships with suppliers
- Work closely with internal departments to meet operational and customer requirements
- Identify and manage potential supply chain risks
- Use data analysis and market research to support purchasing decisions
- Previous purchasing or procurement experience within a similar manufacturing or engineering environment
- Good understanding of procurement best practices
- Experience using MRP or materials planning systems
- Confident negotiation and supplier-management skills
- Strong focus on value for money and cost reduction
- Excellent organisation, administration and time-management skills
- Analytical and comfortable working with purchasing data
- Proactive approach to resolving material shortages and supply chain issues
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments
- GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths
