A fantastic opportunity to work for a prestigious manufacturing company. Currently seeking an ambitious, career driven individual to join their Buying team as a Buyer. The ideal candidate will have some experience of Buying, Supply Chain, Sourcing or Estimating. Due to the nature of this role language skills in Mandarin or Cantonese would be a huge benefit but not essential. The role requires someone who is confident within supplier negotiation, buying and sourcing products with a keen eye for detail and willingness to learn.
The tole will involve:

Supporting the Buying team with negotiation and procurement from the UK Europe and Asia
- Forecasting and stock management, monitoring stock levels and ordering stock in a timely manner
- Ensuring stock levels aren’t too high or too low
- Ensuring stock passes through customs
- Negotiating contracts and onboarding new suppliers, managing SLAs
- Quality checking and control, via video link
- Attending daily procurement update meetings to communicate what deliveries are due
- Assessment and sourcing of high-quality products and supplies
- Managing logistics including bill of laden, and ensuring containers have been ordered
- Ensuring stock is loaded correctly in the containers
- Supplier management through managing and monitoring the supply of materials against requirements and quality standards
- Monitoring supplier performance
- Sourcing new suppliers and managing existing supplier relationships
- Mandate invoicing procedures, highlighting variances and discrepancies in conjunction with
- the Accounts Team
- Negotiation of material costs, payments terms and carriage, optimising cost and quality
- Record and update relevant documents, systems and registers with accurate product information and data
- Previous experience within a similar role from Buying/supply chain
- Experience managing and negotiating with multiple suppliers
- Language skills in Mandarin or Cantonese would be an advantage for this role
- Fluent English essential
- Logistics experience is essential environment.
- Working hours are 9:00am - 5.30pm Monday - Friday
