Senior Buyer

A leading UK organisation is on the lookout for an experienced Senior Buyer to join its growing Procurement team. This position offers the opportunity to lead complex, high-value sourcing and tendering activities across key spend areas. Working closely with Category Managers and business stakeholders, you will play a key role in delivering procurement strategies, driving commercial value, ensuring compliance, and establishing effective supplier partnerships.

Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing and tendering activities for high-value and business-critical requirements. Manage complex procurement exercises from planning through to contract award and implementation. Gather and analyse market intelligence to support sourcing decisions and category strategies. Engage effectively with stakeholders to align procurement activities with business objectives. Develop high-quality tender and sourcing documentation. Conduct supplier negotiations to achieve commercial value and risk mitigation.

Establish and implement new contractual arrangements. Support supplier engagement and relationship management activities. Ensure procurement activities are delivered in accordance with relevant legislation, governance requirements, and procurement best practice. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and wider procurement transformation projects. Maintain strong commercial knowledge and awareness of procurement trends and best practices. About You We're looking for procurement professionals who can demonstrate: A relevant degree and/or progress towards a professional procurement qualification (e.g. CIPS).

Experience delivering complex, multi-stage tendering and sourcing projects. Strong commercial acumen and contract management knowledge. Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills. Strong negotiation and influencing capabilities. The ability to work collaboratively across multiple business functions.
