Onsite Operative

CONTRACT:
Permanent, 40 hours per week

PAY RATE: £13.23 per hour

ABM is seeking a proactive and versatile Onsite Operative to join our team in a manufacturing setting. This newly created, high‑impact role is designed to ensure the site’s exterior is maintained to the highest professional standards.

You will be the face of ABM’s exterior presentation, equipped with a dedicated service vehicle and high‑end equipment (including reach‑and‑wash and power‑washing systems). This role is ideal for a self‑motivated individual who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in site aesthetics, and thrives on daily variety.

• Window & Glass Maintenance:
  Utilize a reach‑and‑wash system to keep ground and mid‑level windows streak‑free and professional.
• Surface Pressure Washing:
  Operate power washers to clean walkways, entryways, and designated exterior surfaces.
• Signage Care:
  Clean road and Seagate‑branded signage to maintain brand visibility (within safe reaching heights).
• Waste & Environment:
  Perform regular litter picking and assist with waste management by transporting materials to the central waste area.
• General Handyman/Industrial Tasks:
  Execute ad‑hoc cleaning and minor maintenance tasks to support the facility.
• Defect Reporting:
  Identify and report maintenance defects or safety hazards to management for inclusion in site service reports.
• Team Support:
  Provide flexible back‑fill support for team absences to ensure seamless service delivery.

• Experience operating power washers and reach‑and‑wash window cleaning systems is highly preferred.
• Fully cleaning driving licence is essential.
• Essential for operating the onsite mobile service van.
• Ability to work independently, identify areas that need attention, and manage your own daily schedule effectively.
• Active role involving outdoor work in various weather conditions, manual handling, and the use of industrial cleaning equipment.
• Friendly, professional manner as you will be a visible representative of ABM on the Seagate site.
• Strong understanding of health and safety protocols, particularly regarding cleaning chemicals and equipment.
