What is the job?

The Hotel Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair operations of the hotel to ensure safety and functionality. This includes supervising maintenance staff, managing maintenance schedules, and performing hands‑on maintenance tasks. The role requires a proactive approach to identify and address potential issues before they impact guests' experiences.

About

The Role

The Hotel Maintenance Supervisor manages all maintenance tasks, provides training, schedules work, and collaborates with senior management to ensure operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities Supervision and Management

Supervise maintenance technicians and oversee all maintenance tasks. Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback to the team. Schedule and allocate work assignments, ensuring work orders in Quore are completed efficiently and effectively. Participate in regular team meetings with the GM and Estate Manager to discuss updates, issues, and improvements.

Maintenance and Repairs

Perform daily routine maintenance requests. Oversee and participate in the maintenance and repair of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, and structural components. Ensure timely response to maintenance requests and guest complaints.

Preventive Maintenance

Execute the scheduled preventive maintenance program in Quore and ensure follow‑up actions from PPM inspections are completed in a timely manner. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs for senior management.

Safety and Compliance

Ensure compliance with local, state, and hotel regulations. Conduct regular safety inspections and drills, address and resolve hazards promptly, and engage in sustainability initiatives such as Green Engage activities and invoice data entry for Brand Platforms.

Inventory and Budget Management

Monitor and manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment. Prepare and manage the maintenance department budget, ensuring cost‑effective operations. Source and negotiate with suppliers for maintenance supplies and services.

Collaboration and Communication

Coordinate with other departments to minimise disruptions during maintenance activities. Communicate effectively with the General Manager and the Andras House Estate Department regarding maintenance issues and project updates. Promote teamwork within the department.

Essential Requirements
  • Experience in carrying out basic maintenance tasks
  • 12 months experience in a similar role
  • Experience using a computer to check emails and send reports
  • Good written and oral English communication skills
  • Ability to multi‑task in a busy environment while adhering to SOPs
  • Ability to work both within a team and independently
  • High standards of attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate and follow instruction
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience in a maintenance role in a hotel or customer‑facing environment
