Job OverviewWe are seeking a reliable and hardworking Shopping Centre Cleaner to join our housekeeping team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation throughout a busy shopping centre environment, ensuring a safe and welcoming experience for customers, tenants, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out general cleaning and housekeeping duties throughout the shopping centre.
- Maintain cleanliness of public areas including malls, corridors, entrances, toilets, lifts, escalators, stairwells, and staff areas.
- Sweep, mop, polish, and disinfect surfaces as required.
- Empty bins and dispose of waste safely and efficiently.
- Respond promptly to spillages and cleaning emergencies to maintain safety standards.
- Replenish consumables such as soap, toilet paper, and hand towels in washroom facilities.
- Use cleaning equipment and machinery safely and correctly.
- Always follow health and safety procedures, including COSHH regulations.
- Report maintenance issues, hazards, or damages to supervisors.
- Work as part of a team to ensure the shopping centre remains clean, presentable, and operational during busy trading periods.
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with members of the public.
- Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience preferred but not essential.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy public environment.
- Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays if required.
- Good communication skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures is desirable.
