Mechanical Maintenance Lead
We are hiring for our client, who is seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Lead to oversee mechanical maintenance activities at their Belfast site.
The successful Mechanical Maintenance Lead will combine strong hands‑on mechanical maintenance knowledge with the ability to supervise, support and develop a maintenance team. Working within a busy operational environment, you will help ensure equipment remains safe, reliable and available by coordinating planned maintenance, responding to breakdowns and identifying opportunities to improve performance.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer or Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor who is ready to take greater ownership of maintenance delivery while benefiting from attractive daytime working hours and an excellent overall reward package.

- Supervise and support mechanical maintenance personnel, allocating workloads and setting priorities
- Plan and oversee preventative and reactive maintenance activities
- Respond to mechanical breakdowns, helping to diagnose faults and implement effective repairs
- Ensure maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard
- Monitor equipment performance and identify recurring faults or reliability concerns
- Support continuous improvement projects designed to reduce downtime and improve plant performance
- Coordinate maintenance schedules around operational requirements
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports and relevant documentation
- Work closely with operations, engineering and other internal teams
- Support contractors and external service providers when required
- Promote high standards of health, safety and housekeeping throughout the maintenance function
- Recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship
- Strong mechanical maintenance experience within an industrial, engineering, production or similarly fast‑paced environment
- Previous supervisory, team leadership or maintenance coordination experience
- Strong knowledge of planned preventative maintenance and mechanical fault‑finding
- Confident assigning work, managing priorities and supporting maintenance team members
- Comfortable taking ownership of maintenance performance and equipment reliability
- Welding experience desirable but not essential
- Salary of £45,000–£50,000, depending on experience
