Cleaning Operative, Cleaning Services

Your new company Your new role To ensure that the school environment is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety, providing a clean and welcoming setting for pupils, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Cleaning classrooms, offices, corridors, stairwells, toilets, staff rooms, and communal areas. Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing floors. Dusting and wiping furniture, fixtures, fittings, and high-touch surfaces. Cleaning and sanitising washroom facilities and replenishing consumables such as soap, toilet rolls, and paper towels. Emptying bins and disposing of waste in accordance with school procedures. Reporting maintenance issues, breakages, or health and safety concerns.

Ensuring cleaning equipment and materials are used appropriately and stored safely. Following all Health & Safety, COSHH, safeguarding, and security procedures. Assisting with periodic deep cleaning and school holiday cleaning as required. Working independently and efficiently to complete allocated tasks within agreed timescales. What you'll need to succeed Previous cleaning experience in a commercial, educational, healthcare, or similar environment.

Experience of working to high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Skills and Knowledge Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Good understanding of health and safety practices. Ability to follow instructions and work schedules. Good attention to detail. Reliable and punctual. Personal Qualities Trustworthy and responsible. Positive attitude and strong work ethic. Flexible approach to duties. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality within the school environment.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Physical Requirements Able to perform the physical duties associated with cleaning, including standing, walking, lifting, bending, and carrying cleaning equipment. Desirable Criteria Previous experience working within a school or educational setting. Knowledge of COSHH regulations and safe chemical handling. Relevant cleaning qualification or health and safety training. Basic understanding of safeguarding requirements within a school environment.
