Position: Contract Supervisor (VOIDS)

EQUANS are recruiting for a Contract Supervisor to be based in Belfast. This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

Overview

The Contract Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day execution and management of contracts within a defined area or project. This role involves ensuring that all work is carried out to the required standards of quality, safety, and efficiency, while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams. The Contract Supervisor plays a key role in coordinating resources, monitoring progress, and resolving any on-site issues that may arise, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.

The Contract Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of repair and maintenance projects, directly influencing the company’s operational efficiency and client satisfaction. As a supervisor, this position holds responsibility for overseeing on-site activities and making decisions that impact the quality, safety, and timeliness of project delivery. The effectiveness of the Contract Supervisor has a direct bearing on the company’s reputation and financial performance.

The role of a Contract Supervisor involves a moderate level of complexity, requiring the ability to manage multiple tasks and challenges simultaneously. The position demands problem-solving skills to address on-site issues such as unexpected technical challenges, resource shortages, or client concerns. The Contract Supervisor must be able to make quick decisions to keep projects on track, while more complex issues, such as significant contractual disputes or major safety concerns, are typically escalated to higher management.

Accountabilities
  • Project Supervision:
    Oversee the delivery of repair and maintenance works, ensuring that all activities are completed to the required standards of quality and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Resource Management:
    Coordinate and manage the allocation of labour, materials, and equipment to ensure efficient project delivery. Work closely with the planning and scheduling teams to optimize resource utilisation.
  • Client and Stakeholder Liaison:
    Maintain regular communication with clients, residents, and other stakeholders to ensure that their needs and expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Quality Control:
    Monitor the quality of work performed by operatives and subcontractors, conducting inspections and ensuring that all work complies with company standards and client specifications.
  • Health and Safety Compliance:
    Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the company’s health and safety policies and procedures, conducting regular safety audits and addressing any issues promptly
  • Problem Resolution:
    Identify and resolve any on-site issues that may impact the progress or quality of the work, escalating complex problems to higher management when necessary.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    Maintain accurate records of work completed, resources used, and any issues encountered. Provide regular progress reports to management and clients.
  • Team Leadership:
    Provide guidance and support to on-site operatives and subcontractors, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.
  • Cost Control:
    Monitor project costs and assist in managing budgets, ensuring that work is completed within financial constraints.
  • On Call:
    Participation in on‑call duties is a condition of employment. The Employer will provide reasonable notice of scheduling and any applicable compensation in line with company policy.
  • People management – this will include but is not limited to Absence, Holidays, Performance Management, Employee Relations, Recruitment, Learning & Development, Induction.
  • Any other reasonable management request.
