Overview

Our Community Assets Team makes a significant contribution to the quality of life enjoyed by residents of Broadland and South Norfolk through the management of a diverse range of assets, including amenity sites, woodlands, public footpaths, and play areas across the districts. We are looking to welcome an experienced and proactive Officer to join us in a role where you will support the management and delivery of high-quality council-owned community assets to enhance the local area.

You will provide advice and support on a range of matters, manage the procurement of minor works, and manage service contracts to ensure value for money. You will advise on the design, provision and maintenance of open spaces, place and amenity facilities during the planning process and thereafter. In this role, you will help ensure our community assets contribute to a sense of “place” and the health and wellbeing of residents and visitors to our Districts.

Responsibilities
  • Provide advice and support on asset and service management matters, including procurement of minor works and management of service contracts to ensure value for money.
  • Advise on the design, provision and maintenance of open spaces, places and amenities during the planning process and thereafter.
  • Support the management and delivery of high-quality council-owned community assets to enhance the local area.
  • Contribute to creating a sense of place and promoting health and wellbeing for residents and visitors.
What We're Looking For
  • Knowledge of asset/property management and related legislation and developments.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of statutory requirements relating to health and safety and risk assessments.
  • Experience of project managing multiple complex projects and effective problem solving and influencing skills.
  • Desirable: knowledge of arboriculture and conservation land management in relation to maintenance, new planting schemes, or contractual/specification preparation and management.
