Clare House, Belfast, however NICS operates a hybrid working policy which allows staff to work between the office and remote working locations.  The Property Services Division (PSD) has a leading role to play in procuring and delivering high quality property maintenance services including small projects and associated services to clients across the Northern Ireland Civil Service (NICS) and other public sector clients.

We are now looking to recruit a Principal Electrical Building Services Engineer (Grade - PPTO) to join our team. You will play a major role in ensuring that high quality planned projects are delivered and best value is achieved, leading a team of construction professionals across a range of disciplines delivering construction projects alongside a team delivering advice and support on Fire Safety matters and Supplies and Stores.

Acting as the lead PSD officer in relation to matters pertaining to electrical engineering. Leading and managing for all staff and business activities within the multidisciplinary team, with responsibility for making key decisions on team workload, staff resources and the delegation of works. Leading and managing the provision of advice pertaining to the services delivered by the multidisciplinary team to Northern Ireland Departments, their Agencies and Non-Departmental Public Bodies.

Leading and managing the engagement with clients including being the principal point of contact for new and existing customers, on matters concerning the provision of all services delivered by the multidisciplinary (Architectural, Mechanical and Electrical services, as well as the Fire Safety unit and Supplies and Stores unit) team. Attendance at regular client liaison meetings. Applicants must, by the closing date for applications:
Be a current Chartered Electrical Engineer
* AND Have at least 3 years experience in the design and delivery of electrical services within buildings
** with a total aggregate value of at least £1M per annum AND Have at least 3 years experience of successfully leading a team in the construction sector.

Applications will also be considered from applicants with relevant professional membership considered by the selection panel to be of an equivalent or higher standard to those stated. The candidate must give details of the professional membership held and reasons why you consider it to be equivalent to the membership required. The onus is on you to provide the panel with details of the professional membership so that a well-informed decision can be made.
