Position OverviewThis role combines office-based technical coordination with field-based project management, overseeing the delivery of domestic and commercial photovoltaic installations across the UK and Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining operational excellence through systematic project delivery methodologies, ensuring compliance with all relevant British Standards and industry best practices whilst delivering superior client outcomes.
Principal Responsibilities Project Delivery & Quality Assurance- Timely completion of domestic and commercial photovoltaic installations to specified technical standards, delivered within contractual parameters and monitored through daily performance metrics.
- Maintain and enhance quality standards across all projects, supporting the organisation's commitment to technical innovation and industry leadership.
- Monitor developments in photovoltaic technology, regulatory frameworks, legislative changes, and emerging products, implementing continuous improvement methodologies.
- Coordinate and supervise daily installation schedules for domestic and commercial photovoltaic systems.
- Participate in strategic planning processes, including resource allocation for personnel, materials, and time frames in collaboration with cross-functional departments.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects with varying technical requirements and stakeholder groups.
- Assume responsibility for comprehensive materials planning and inventory management systems.
- Execute stock audits, coordinate material procurement, and maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Ensure field teams are equipped with appropriate materials and components in accordance with project specifications.
- Prepare technical documentation for site deployment, including commercial site surveys, project programmes, and implementation schedules.
- Develop detailed bills of materials for specific installations.
- Engage with clients to ensure technical requirements are fulfilled.
- Lead pre-installation technical briefings and conduct comprehensive project reviews.
- Participate in commercial discussions with senior management to ensure departmental coordination.
- Serve as primary technical liaison on-site, maintaining professional client relationships.
- Provide technical supervision and support to installation teams in accordance with ethical standards.
- Implement problem‑solving methodologies and conduct risk assessments to prevent project delays.
- Promote best practice implementation and eliminate substandard procedures.
- Manage 3-4 specialist teams comprising 12-15 technical personnel (expandable capacity).
- Coordinate subcontractor appointments, arrange resource coverage, and allocate specialist personnel to complex installations.
- Conduct workforce planning analysis and implement proactive solutions.
- Perform individual performance reviews and deliver training programmes.
- Foster organisational culture aligned with corporate values and standards.
- Ensure full compliance with statutory health and safety legislation, organisational policies, and industry standards as a fundamental requirement.
- Demonstrate exemplary safety leadership and enforce site protocols, implementing corrective measures where necessary.
- Maintain proactive approach to occupational safety management.
- Provide comprehensive project progress reports and technical feedback throughout operational periods.
- Submit formal daily progress reports against established programmes and schedules.
- Ensure completion of all requisite documentation including Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), electrical certification, photographic records, permits to work, and commissioning documentation.
