Pension Scheme, Life Assurance Scheme, 26 days' Annual Leave We are looking for a Finance Officer/Office Manager to provide comprehensive office management to RSPB HQ at Belvoir Park and support Belfast WoW, Portmore Lough, and the Seabird Centre on Rathlin to ensure the premises provide an effective working environment. What's the role about? This role will oversee the day-to-day management of the office to ensure it is an efficient, effective, and safe place to work.

They will work with the PA to Country Director to ensure that all office support requirements are carried out to a high standard. The successful candidate will be expected to take a flexible and pragmatic approach to their role to ensure that the necessary administrative support requirements are met. However, in all cases, this will involve building effective relationships with people at all levels, both internally and externally, while ensuring that complex confidential and sensitive matters are handled appropriately.

Duties Provides comprehensive business administrative support to one or larger teams, sites, or projects/programmes, including the administration of financial processes, travel and accommodation, events, organising and maintaining materials and equipment, diary bookings and fleet car administration so that staff and volunteers operate efficiently. Overseeing the day-to-day management of the office environments, liaising with Central Services or equivalent facilities management services as necessary, ensuring the office is an efficient, effective and safe places to work.

Provides a high level of technical/operational knowledge in the functional area, or in system, facilities or information management to support and deliver functional operations, so RSPB managers and teams have the necessary skills and knowledge to operate effectively. Act as Finance Officer for the region and the main point of contact for the Finance Business Partner on all major budget and forecast queries.

Co-ordinating and supporting the timely receipt of budget forecasts, managing the budget spreadsheets and working with budget holders to populate this for second forecast and next years budget. Providing timely and accurate information and support to Operations Director and their Leadership team. Co-ordinating and supporting year end process, raise paperwork to support accurate completion of yearly annual accounts, including grant accruals, carry forwards and compliance and assist Project Managers in setting up and establishing the budgets for Society Major Projects.

They will need to establish, maintain and develop effective relationships with people at all levels on behalf of the Operations Director to ensure confidential and sensitive financial matters are handled appropriately and professionally, for example when dealing with salary information. What we need from you Essentials:
At least 5 GCSE's, including Maths and English. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (especially Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint), plus the ability to impart this knowledge on to others.

Experience of working with complex budget information as well as managing and reporting financial information. Financial analysis skills. The ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people within and external to the RSPB whether by phone, email or in person. Organisational and time management skills including the ability to prioritise work effectively.

Experience of office management and maintaining a safe working environment. Able to negotiate and influence effectively. Able to proactively identify and solve problems. Able to identify and act on opportunities for continually improving ways of working. Able to deal with confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
