If you are appointed, you will report to the City Innovation Manager and be responsible for brokering and shaping a range of programmes and projects in support of Belfast’s inclusive innovation ambitions. You will:
- contribute to the design and delivery of development of relevant policies and practices such as the city innovation programme and inclusive growth framework.
- Build relationships with relevant stakeholders from communities, private sector, public sector and academia that are required to deliver a multi-stakeholder inclusive innovation programme.
- Work with City Innovation Office staff and other teams from across Belfast City Council to support the design, delivery and testing of individual projects that utilise innovation methodologies and that ensure inclusion can be integrated into the overall Belfast innovation programme.
- Support the City Innovation Manager to represent the Council in engaging with key institutions and senior leaders at council, city, regional and national level to build awareness of, and commitment to, the delivery of the programme.
- Lead the development and management of a multi-year inclusive innovation project plan.
- Lead on the creation of a set of inclusive innovation methodologies, tools, and training resources that are informed by research and good practice, including supporting the establishment of an evaluation framework.
The Corporate Services Department provides essential strategic and operational support services, ensuring the council operates effectively and efficiently. Key functions include:
- Audit, Governance & Risk Services– Ensuring compliance and best practices in corporate governance.
- City Innovation– Driving digital transformation and innovation within the council.
- Commercial & Procurement Services– Managing procurement and contract oversight.
- Digital Services– Providing IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital solutions.
- Regional Programmes– Leading the delivery of strategic initiatives such as the Belfast Region City Deal.
