Fractional Finance Director

G1 Search is partnering with an ambitious and growing software technology business to appoint a Fractional Finance Director. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance Director or CFO to join a leadership team at a pivotal stage of growth. Having established a strong market position and developed a scalable SaaS platform, the business is now focused on accelerating growth, strengthening governance, and building long-term value.

Working closely with the Managing Director, Board, and senior leadership team, the successful candidate will provide strategic financial leadership, commercial insight, and governance support. This is not a traditional finance role. The appointment will play a key role in shaping business strategy, improving decision-making, supporting growth initiatives, and helping prepare the organisation for future strategic opportunities. The successful candidate will act as a trusted adviser to the Board, bringing challenge, perspective, and commercial expertise while helping the business navigate its next phase of development.

Key Responsibilities Act as a trusted adviser to the Managing Director and Board on business performance, growth strategy, investment decisions, and risk Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and long-term modelling activities Develop meaningful management information, KPI reporting, and commercial insight to support decision-making Strengthen financial controls, governance frameworks, and reporting processes Support pricing strategy, profitability analysis, investment appraisal, and commercial decision-making Maintain oversight of cashflow management, working capital, and financial performance Support future fundraising, financing, acquisitions, and strategic transaction activity where appropriate Drive continuous improvement across finance systems, reporting, and operational processes Work closely with external advisers and professional service providers Provide constructive challenge and strategic perspective to the leadership team Required Experience Experience operating at Finance Director, CFO, or equivalent senior leadership level Proven ability to support business growth, scale operations, and influence strategic decision-making Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial information into meaningful business insight Experience working within software, SaaS, technology, or recurring revenue business models Comfortable operating at Board level, providing challenge, guidance, and strategic perspective to senior stakeholders Track record of improving performance, strengthening governance, and supporting long-term value creation Experience supporting fundraising, investment activity, acquisitions, or transaction readiness would be advantageous Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) What's on Offer Opportunity to join an ambitious and growing technology business at an exciting stage of its journey Highly strategic and commercially focused fractional leadership role Direct access to the Board and senior decision-makers Opportunity to influence growth strategy, business performance, and long-term value creation Flexible fractional arrangement with scope to shape the role around business requirements Competitive remuneration package Potential long-term opportunity for the right individual Interested?
