MCS is partnering with a leading Public Body that is currently expanding its project delivery capabilities. Following a recent review of their operational needs, they are seeking a hands‑on, organised individual to join their team as an Assistant Project Manager.

This is not a role for someone who wants to oversee from a distance; it is for a coordinator who enjoys managing service providers, tracking budgets, and bringing complex IT and strategic projects to life from scratch.

Requirements
  • Level 4 qualification in Business, IT Management, or a related discipline, OR 2 years of experience managing IT support.
  • Provider Management
    :
    Proven experience in managing third‑party service providers and contracts.
  • Communication & Support
    :
    Excellent written, oral, and visual communication skills with the ability to manage internal help desk functions.
  • Project Focus
    :
    Strong project management skills, including planning, delivery, and evaluation.
  • Strategic Mindset
    :
    Experience in drafting budgets, procurement, or implementing operational plans is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
  • IT & Service Delivery
    :
    Managing external IT support contracts, overseeing internal help desk queries, and leading IT improvement projects.
  • Budget & Resource Management
    :
    Setting and overseeing project budgets, tracking spending, and preparing business cases for new purchases.
  • Partnership & Negotiation
    :
    Building relationships with partners, negotiating service agreements, and monitoring performance to ensure expectations are met.
  • Strategic Support
    :
    Assisting the Director with the development of the organisation's strategy, operational plans, and performance measures.
